“Navigating Family Dynamics in End-of-Life Care for Persons with Disabilities: Strategies for Conflict Resolution and Family-Centered Care” equips health and social care professionals with practical strategies to navigate complex family dynamics during end-of-life care for persons with disabilities. It examines sources of conflict, including communication barriers, cultural expectations, and decision-making tensions. Emphasis is placed on family-centered practices that respect autonomy, capacity, and diverse support networks. Through case discussions and reflective exercises, learners will strengthen skills in understanding family dynamics, developing care plans, aligning goals, and building trust. Participants will learn practical conflict resolution strategies, including questioning techniques such as circular and reflective questions to promote understanding and de-escalation. The training supports compassionate, person-centered care, ethical decision-making, and interprofessional collaboration across settings while reducing preventable disputes during critical transitions.
