This programme is designed to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of primary palliative care principles, prognostication, and the structure of services available in Hong Kong. It covers how to apply clinical skills to assess and manage common symptoms across cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, frailty, and advanced organ failures (renal, cardiac, respiratory). The programme also aims to strengthen participants’ capacity to integrate psychosocial and spiritual care. This includes assessing depression, anxiety, delirium, and spiritual needs, as well as providing compassionate support during the last days of life, including in residential care settings.
