Advance Medical Directives (AMD) legislation represents a significant milestone in the advancement of end-of-life care in Hong Kong. The Legislative Council of Hong Kong enacted the Advance Decision on Life-Sustaining Treatment (ADLST) Ordinance. Currently, the ordinance is undergoing a 18-month preparation period for medical institutions, relevant departments, and organizations to update their protocols, records, and systems, as well as provide training to their frontline staff. This course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate AMD and do-not-attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DNACPR) under the ADLST ordinance. The course will share the guiding principles and best practices with illustrations by case scenarios.
